Technical EGR valve

Good day everyone, please I want to know where exactly the vacuum hose at the top of EGR valve lead to, mine is cut off and not leading to nowhere and I want to know the sign the engine will give if the hose is not connected I thanks

What engine, and what year have you got?

on a X250 2.3 the vacuum pipe goes from solenoid on back centre scuttle support to egr valve.
