Original thread here; http://www.alfaowner.com/Forum/alfa-...tructions.html (How-To Fix the EGR Valve on an 1.9JTD - PDF Instructions)

I have created a PDF manual with step by step photos and procedures for fixing a EGR valve on a 1.9JTD.

This how-to may be applicable for other Alfa / Fiat, Opel, Vauxhall and Saab Diesels with the same or similar EGR valve.

The PDF he has linked to is very comprehensive, even goes down into how to fix it if its properly gunked up!

Something I've never quite understood about the EGR valve...
If a problem with the EGR has already been "solved" as mine has prior to buying the car, will this be likely to occur again?

I thought Fiat had resolved the gunking up issue? Or is this going to be something I should do on a perhaps annual basis?

When I had my 1.9 I just cleaned it out every 2 or 3 months or when the power dropped off a tad because its so easy to do.

Anyone know if the 2.0 has an EGR?
