Hi all,
I have a 2006 Eleganza 120 Multijet with electronic EGR which stopped working some time back (according to Fiat main dealer diagnostics), but I left it as it was, as the valve was stuck in the closed position and the car runs fine (with more NOX emissions I presume!) except the EML is on. Now the car is due and NCT (Irish MOT!), and the EGR must be sorted as it will not pass with the EML on. Today I removed and dismantled the EGR with help from previous posts on this forum. Not an easy job - anything at the back of that engine is a nightmare! After a thorough cleaning, the solenoid part does not seem to be working and connecting to a battery gave no movement.
Can the complete Pierburg EGR be purchased reasonably from a non-Fiat source? If so any good net sellers for this? Can the solenoid part be bought seperately?
As an alternative to replace, I suppose you cannot turn off the signal to the EML from the faulty EGR as it works fine with the EGR closed!
Thanks for any help
