General edna meets retirement

its mot day for my dear old edna, did all the checks a couple of days ago and got a phonecall from the testing station saying it needs oil (i just refilled it not too long back), just put some in and found mayo in the filler cap so i think the HG has blown, first mot and shes dead!

gotta wait till half twelve to take it back in for the test, not gonna mention it and see what happens, its wierd cos shes not getting super hot anymore and runs smooth as silk. *fingers crossed*

I think you panic too much. If the water level hasn't fallen then the water in the oil is condensation. A 96 car will use oil, thats just life. Keep it topped up, oil does some of the cooling job too.

apparently the mot guy agrees with you D, she failed but only on 2 tyres and a cv joint gaiter, so im well chuffed,
