I have a 59 plate 500 1.3 diesel. I am a pretty good home mechanic and reasonably intelligent (trying to be modest ) but I can't get my head around what hardware and software I need to purchase to be able to reset the 'oil change' light and 'oil change' message. I have read the various threads on this subject (honest) and followed the various links, but I'm still not clear.

Obviously I don't want to waste hard-earned cash on the wrong thing, so I would be extremely grateful if someone could spell out for me in 2 or 3 bullet points exactly what I need to purchase, and I would be even more grateful if someone could post links to these items so I don't get it wrong

That's a big price difference, yet the cheaper one is better?

Bear in mind that's got all of the adapter cables as well as a KKL and ELM cable. So covers ALL cars.

Andy, the one link you posted has adaptor cables and ELM 327 interface, the other is just the ELM 327 interface. Do I need both items or is the interface that comes with the cables sufficient?

I've bought 2 of the 3 items suggested above and tested it on my Stilo. After a bit of fiddling around with the config I managed to reset my service light. I now need to do the same on the 500 which I will probably do this weekend.
