I have got a new ECU and code box fitted to the sei now and its running perfect

But the 'code' light is still flashing and the garage that i took it too is stumped for ideas as to what could be causing this

The computer is telling them that there are no faults and the car starts first time

The only thing that they cannot do is input the code that fiat gave me as it does not reconigse it:confused: , they dont know why that it either:bang:

Can anyone think of possible reasons for this

Thanks

Gaz,

I'm sorry that I can't be of much help, but you should not pay for the work until they sort the problem out. This is definately a problem with the Code Control Box or the ECU. If the ECU won't recognise the code then there is a problem, with either the new parts or their equipment. They should be able to enter the Code from Fiat. If they cannot diagnose it with their equipment I think they need to contact Fiat for technical support.

Hope you get it sorted soon, You must be extremely pi**ed off by now.

Regards,

Michael

i been told its a virgin ecu:confused:

so the immobilser isnt active on it, but i got a built in one with my alarm so it dont worry me that much

i got the car back now and its running fine, i cant fault it, just the light flashing all the time

he told me to take it back if i find any answers from you guys or if he finds anything out he will get back in touch

i noticed something else too, nothing to do with ecu, but it aint worth starting a new thread, my paint has cracked on the b-pillars, both sides:mad:

a lot of lowered corsas suffer from the same problem they blame there suspension for doing it, im just wondering if mine is to blame too

has anyone else suffered the same problem since they lowered there car

its constantly flashing, i.e, its not immobilsed, although my alarm immobilises the ehgine, i covered it over with tape for the time being, the guy i took it too wants to fix it, so he knows for future reference

but as he cant access the ecu with the code that was given to me and fiat are un-willing to give him advice, we kind of stuck in the middle at the mo

i found the worksheet that i was given

the work done was:

diagnostic check to investigate code light problem

check to imob circuit will not access, various faults found

check to ecu found numerous faults plus uknown error, all these indicate ECU fault - poss spiked

replace ecu, antenna and code box

still have problems accessing code system

ecu check ok, no errors found

The code fiat gave me was a 5 digit code, which got the car working, when it wouldnt start at all.

What mechanic is thinking/hoping that fiat have a default code which allows you to access code system, then put in original code, although original code should work....we think
