General ecu fault

Hi guys ,1.6 16v stilo mw has just lost all contact with ecu,no fuel guage,speedo or dash lights,anybody had a fault like this.The car starts ok,runs rough ,got myself a cable to read the codes,and now the car is not communicating with the ecu,any suggestions please.thanks in advance :bang:

Have you tried the easy stuff, check the ecu connectors are fully home and give them a clean. Checked ecu earth?

Yes mate ,actually took the ecu out to see if i could find something obvious,checked the large fuses they are all ok,thanks for the reply.was watching the england game{performing like my car hit nmiss}

I once saw a stilo 1.9 with a short in the starter motor, it would make the car crazy, a lot of errors, and no communication to the ECU.
Take an amperage measurement.. and see if you have a short-circuit.
A bad ECU ground/ power would also give similar problems..
