Ok so in short....

There is a faulty IAW 59F.M3 ECU in my Punto MK2 year 2000

I have a fully working virgin plug and play IAW 59F.M2 ECU.

Does anyone know if the M2 version (older) will work in my car which has the (newer m3) version?

Thanks!

edit: if it helps, the M2 version is for cars with "no cam sensor and only 1 lambda"

Why not try it

I would save it should as itll probably ignore the extra sensors or u disconnect them so it becomes extra wiring

Only issue may be is multiplug setup might mean certain wires aint in right place.....

Ziggy

Thanks for the reply!

As its a plug and play ECU I don't want to "try" it as it will learn my key code(Loose its virginity :p) and then I cannot return it.

I guess the only way to be sure is if someone has tried it, Or I will just have to return it and wait another week for the M3 to arrive (n)

Like Ziggy says about the extra sensors, on my punto its a 2000 but has an engine from a 2002 punto which has a cam sensor, but because the ecu on my punto doesnt require an input from a cam sensor i blanked it and it runs perfectly. But you wouldnt have to blank them you could just leave them unplugged :)

Up to you though.

Ben
