ok in terms of performance its only slightly but 2day i was getting 60mpg around town, obviously not driving in my normal style (but like a granny in a micra)......and when ive been flooring it ive still got 39.8mpg. This is with 17" wheels, k&n, s/s exhaust system aswell.

I definately recommend them to anyone thinking of buying one, for a punto anyway

EVERYONE- SPRAY YOUR PUNTOS BLACK

you got an 8v if so they do seenm to work well on them as for 16v and HGT they seem to do sod all a lot of flks i know have had them and it seems only the 8v seem to gain from having one

Do they give you a nice trip computer? That's kind of Fiat.

THey gave me erm....wheel trims as standard AND I did get a speedo but that's about it ;)

I have just been told that an alarm wasn't standard on some of the abarth Stilos so this is a surprise!

Do ecotek valves just give better MPG then??

I don't get it, really how does it work? Surely it just reduces the amount of petrol pushed through the engine, therefore reducing the actual power of your car??

Or maybe I'm just thick [?]

Punto MK2 Sporting 16v, Full Abarth Bodykit + Alloys.

You can just about make this out, 63.8 MPG :D

Ok that was a complete one off driving at about 30 - 40 over 10 miles, in soon dropped off [}:)]

it can sound very wierd. teh air is sucked in through the ecoteck valve though a small mesh filter wich is adjustable as you have to set up the tension on the internal spring so that the valve opens and close at right moment. anyways on mine i dint find much noise when going along but when you back off teh revs so they fall to idle just before idle sometimes you got this wierd high pitche fart sound lol but sounded ok to me lol. you can also buy a ecotec filter wich goes on top wich drownds out the noise its like a.......damn cant think of the brand name now but its one of the performance air filter people make em for ecotec.

the ecoteck helps with evening out flat spots in the power range of yoru engine aswell. idea is the air sucked in through the valve agitates the fuel and gives a leaner greener burn.

2001 Punto sporting in sprint blue with matching Mr Bump air freshner all together now mmmmmmm

I really must get mine fitted.

the cut fuel pipe is almost just a horrible memory now!!

:)

the sound they make is a bit like when you drink out of a mcdonalds cup with a straw when the drink is all gone and you're just sucking air, just a slightly lower pitch.

Odd description but that's EXACTLY how it sounds!

And the filter you can get for them is made by Pipercross. Halfords do them actually. Think it's about £15.

Oh yes.

The pipes are right next to each other, i just blatantly rushed and slipped up big time.

Hard lesson to learn but I'm not the only one!!!

On that note.

TA-DA!

Fitted.

But jesus that was hard work compared to the rover.

Some pics will follow. Thanks to Wolfrace for the original pics - that helped no-end (especially as I now have a K&N fitted too and the bay is identical!)

Putting it into my Rover 416 was a 10 minute job.

Punto took about 30 minutes.
