Morning all. Another day in Stiloland!

Driving along the motorway, strady 70 on cruise control, everything fine, all of a sudden the ABD and Brake lights light up, and the display says "EBD Failure - Stop Engine"... naturally I'm not going to do this on the motorway,so I dabbed the brakes to check they worked ok and continued on to work. When I got here, I stopped the engine and restarted, and it was all fine, no faults.
So is this just an electrical glitch, or am I waiting for it to light up again on the drive home?

Did it again this morning, almost exactly the same time and place

So I guess the first thing is to read the ABS ECU - so I need an ELM327 cable I assume? MY KKL only reads the engine...

Or do I try cleaning the ABS sensors and connections? And if so, where are they, how do I get to them and how do I check them?

Your KKL will read the ABS ECU if you use one of the FES adapters.

Using a set of FES adapters you should be able to read the following ECU's:
1. Engine
2. ABS
3. Airbag
4. Steering(I think)

So I can't do it with a straight ELM327 cable?
When I connect my KKL it says I need ELM 327 for the service reset... that item you've linked to says it works with the ELM or KKL depending on the vehicle.

Service reset is deffinately ELM only on a Stilo(see the attached screen shot).

Yes the adapters work with KKL and ELM, just depends what ECU's you want to connect to, some ECU's require an ELM to connect to them, some ECU's require a KKL to connect to them.

Already posted the answers to that.

You need an ELM interface for Service rest(no adapters, I think).

You can connect to ABS using your KKL interface and one of the FES adapters(ELM not required for ABS).

In the meantime, is there an easy way to check and/or clean the sensors? Might be worth doing that anyway at the weekend...
