Does anyone know the complete spec for the new model Dynamic Sport due for release on 1st March. Salesman said it has Dynamic spec + following: side skirts & spoiler, Blue & me, ESP,MSR etc, 15" alloys, ABS, Same computer/info display as Eleganza (I doubt this, outside temperature sensor etc is important), front fogs, air con, chrome tailpipe. I really want 16v eleganza as does my wife but they are only doing them in 8v now. I could get climate and reversing sensors fitted at factory but this will cost £500. Got to let salesman know in morning (Sat 27 Jan) so urgently need info. Please guys. (y)

Funny he wants you to let him know in the moring. Salesmen/women are always heavily judged on their Saturday performance. Just to let you know, all new cars in the UK since mid 2005 (if i remember rightly) have ABS, by law.

Cheers for that, when I say he wants me to let him know in the morning I mean he is phoning Fiat logistics in morning to see if he can get me a 16v Eleganze in any colour but the ??sand. I have told him that I will only settle for 16v preferably Eleganza but may consider Dynamic Sport if I can spec it close enough to Ganza without too much extra cost.

Good - glad you've seen sense - 8 valve is a dud. BUT
For £9100 the 1.4 16 vale Sporting is superior to drive and look at.
Your wife will thank you for it!

It's the 16 valve 5 door dynamic sport I'll be going for, if salesman can guarantee me the spec and climate + reversing sensors. If not plan B kicks in, pre-reg 56 plate 16v Eleganza in Jungle Grey if it's not sold. Trust Fiat to downsize engine in model I want. :bang:

Cool.....so the Dynamic Sport comes with the 1.4 16 valve engine....not the 8 valve - you're sure - positive right??
In my opinion it's such a big, important purchase it's worth going and waiting for the Dynamic Sport - they improve on the models all the time and yours would be even more trouble free/drive tighter than the later built models.
I mean personally if money is not a problem fine but I think the climate control is a waste of time really - it's 'fiddley' and the regular dials are easy to operate without looking at them and the parking sensors, ok, but the buggers start beeping too early - they aren't important things like a sky roof or the 16 valve engine for example and it would keep the cost down....
Funny how you couldn't change the order and now you suddenly can, eh....?!

Just to update you on events Superboy, I had the wife taking a real hard look at Fiat website tonight and also a foreign one that came up with good pics of interior of an Eleganza + looked at Reg Vardy pics of grandes in different colours and the upshot is if salesman can't get 16v Eleganza in a crossover black or one of the blues, she is just gonna stick with the 8v one already on order. She decided she wants all the gadgets and the idea of climate control supplying warm air from cold start appeals to her as do the reverse sensors. As it's her car and I have a bike for my transport I'll have to stick by her. She said she'll live with the lethargic power as she is not a fast driver anyway. You're right though, funny how salesman seems to have changed his mind. Fingers crossed he sources 16v in the morning, though I don't know where from if he couldn't do it other day.

Nearly forgot, yeah there is a 16v engine for the dynamic sport, just go see posts by chriskeegan. Salesman also assured me and he said upholstery was better for new 07 models (not sure how he knows that as he hadn't seen a brochure yet, just a price list) Another plus point for 07 model is most of the gremlins will have been sorted out hopefully.

8V & 16v price

Does anyone have any idea of the price difference I should be looking at for a March 07 new spec 1.4 8v Eleganza compared to previous 06 spec 1.4 16v Eleganza? Don't know how much extra 8 valves are worth! :(

thanks for filling me in - that's very cool....you've really looked into it and you've decided what is gonna do it for you.

You said, and i quote.....: 'the idea of climate control supplying warm air from cold start'......you don't think you're gonna get warm air coming out of the vents immediately do you?.....it takes 2 or 3 miles for the engine to heat up.....climate control only keeps the temperature that you select, at that temperature....ok?

Call fiatsupasaver.com.......they'll tell you.

Superboy, I read on the American site I think that the climate control system is fitted with some kind of preheater that according to the guy that wrote it does the job of supplying warm air until the engine heats up. Gonna scour the net to-day for info and check with salesman though, it may be that he was using Lexus or Bentley  climate system for example.

Hi, got the March Price list in front of me.

The New Eleganza 1.4 8v 3 door is gonna be £9995

The 5 door version is gonna be £10595

Chris

You gotta be joking, right? No to the above. Sorry mate.

You're right there, I checked back to the site and it seems that the supplementary electric heater is geared up for diesel engines but he is implying it is on the Grande. Scoured around the net and it seems Rover 75 diesels have these if they have climate control and can be activated by remote control. Something to do with diesel engine taking longer to reach operating temp.

Thanks for that chriskeegan, since salesman hasn't phoned me I think I'll go and phone him and see what can be done. Still getting a good deal though as car is costing £10,000 in Crossover Black with free tank fuel and free mats, I'm paying extra for foglights.

Superboy, a new update on Eleganza, disregard what I said about going for 8v in black if dealer was unable to source 16v version. The dealer has been mucking me around, by saying he would phone Fiat Logistics today to see if he could get 16 valver (They don't work Saturdays) He never phoned, when I phoned him he said he was waiting for them to get back to them by 3.30 pm (Liar) Phoned Grays to see if they still had 16v Eleganza in Jungle Grey and have got my name on it. Upshot is first dealer has lost a sale as if he'd phoned me this morning as arranged I would have told him to just keep the 8v version on order and would have been unaware of the lies he was telling me. :bang:

Good, good, good.....they don't even need to call Fiat Logistics....everything that is available is down on the computer screen - don't know why he is such a tosser.
Anyways....so have you put a deposit on this other 16 valve Eleganza?
What are you gonna do about getting a refund on the first deal with the crap dealership?
When are you picking up the Eleganza? How much are you paying?

Yeah, you're right Superboy, Grays told me same thing and said that was the only way he could check stock to-day so that confirmed to me he was a chancer. Grays are phoning me on Sunday to sort out the details, I'll put down a deposit when they phone. They are asking £9995 for it and giving me £4000 for my Focus, I'd like to try and get a set of mats and tank of fuel thrown in so I'll try them but if not I'll not be too bothered. Hoping to be on boat next Friday night, arrive Aberdeen Sat morning 7 am and then 8 hour drive down to Warwick, stay the night there and drive back up Sun. I never put a deposit down on the new one or signed anything, salesman phoned tonight so I told him to cancel the order as I had got one at Grays. Ah well it'll be better with the extra 8 valves eh!!

You said that "there was no way to change the original order"....now it turns out that no deposit paid or document signed.....so all of that was quite clearly 'bull'...don't like being lied to..... :-(
Anyways, onwards and upwards.....they do 2 kinds of G. Punto carpet floor mats, standard and luxury.
The 'standard' are crap - the 'luxury' are a kind of velour weave and thicker pile....much nicer.....they're about £15 more for the whole set....the set's about £37. I used them as a final barganing thing saying that if they would supply the floor mats and £20 of petrol then I'd give them my Amex
number over the phone. I never EVER do any deal face to face.....ALWAYS over the telephone and I let the person know that I have been offered a very similar deal elsewhere.
I'm so please you're getting the 16 valve engine....G. Punto's a big, heavy car and it needs that 100 bhp.
