Have upgraded the front speakers in my X250 van (2012) with the German Elton easy fit kit, pricey, but seems pretty good. It is a midbase in the door and new tweeter in the a pillar trim.

Through fiddling and googling, I have found a rear speaker wiring plug in the B pillar, drivers side, relay fusebox, by drivers seat belt. There are also some interesting cables in here, like a heavy duty power connector, that I presume is form either a leisure battery or rear habitation power for the converters. BUt I have not fiddled with it yet to see what it does!
There are two female (I think) connectors in here also, one a 6 way (with 5 pins connected) and one a bigger, i think 15 way one.

The 6 ways connector has the rear speaker wiring, by connecting up a speaker on loose wires, ive located the left and right rear speaker channels all connected up. Great. So next step is to see if I can buy the male plug that will plug in and allow me to make up a loom for the rear speakers I am goign to fit. Just for a bit of rear fill, nothing mad.

Anyone know if you can but these and if so from where? Google is not helping in the search! I suspect the 5th pin on this connector is a switch live or something, I have note tested it yet though.

If anyone can help with this and or advise on what the other larger 15 way connector is, and what the big power connector does, I'd be grateful.

Hi Simch
Attached are Pictures with the info you need regarding the 6 way connector. The connector -Tyco p/n 1-480704-0 available from Mouser Electronics UK as well as other places.

The 15 way connector is CONNECT CO36L1A (15-WAY) – COACH-BUILDER'S SOCKET see attached pictures.
There is also a 12 way connector which is for all the rear lights & the 2 way high current one which you mentioned. - CONNECTOR CO36L1C (2-WAY) – COACH-BUILDER'S SOCKET. For connecting an auxiliary Battery.

Hope that helps
Cheers

Wow, that's great!! Love this place!! And nice of Fiat to leave a nice easy connections point to aim at! I searched on ebay for 6 pin sockets etc, and saw some that I may be able to whittle down to make fit, but to even get someone piping up with the Tyco part number! Brilliant, cheers.

BTW, is the big power connector a perm live or switched or on timer via canbus, like the existing rear interior lighting is, (10mins till switch off?).

Thanks again for detailed and prompt response.

FreeSpirit; thank you for the above information it came up on a Google search and I had to register so I could say thanks. It's invaluable and saved me some time. I just need to find a reverse light feed in the same area, would you happen to know that?

Where di you get the speaker connector from? Mouser or more local (mouser stuff comes from Texas!)

Hi
just an update from 2017 as it appears two of the attached pictures are hard to read due to the resolution (interconnection control unit & connectors for conversion jpegs) so I have split them into separate screen shots, so I hope that makes them easier to see when blown up. If anybody wants more info about the outfitters conversions specs let me know.
Cheers

Just removed the driver's side (rhd) pillar trim from my 2016 x250 and absolutely no sign of any wiring or connectors at all for rear speakers/leisure battery as shown in the diagrams above. Is it fitted in all vehicles?

No, only as an option. It's intended for conversion specialists adding bespoke or custom bodies to the chassis cab or converting vans into ambulances, motorhomes and other special function vehicles, as a way of providing access to various base vehicle functions without making alterations to the factory wiring.

Ok, thanks for that. I'm upgrading the head unit and speakers as part of conversion so will use the soon to be redundant tweeter feed to connect to the new rears. Just need to plan connection between starter and leisure batteries.
