Hi, I've a 65 plate Ducato Professional, x250. I'm trying to locate the physical location of the Ambient Light Sensor/Dusk Sensor. (google and youtube haven't been as helpful as i would have hoped). Ebay has shown me what the sensor should look like, but i haven't found it's location on the vehicle yet! If anyone knows where it is physically located, and/or the connector shape i would be eternally grateful!

Long Story Below regarding the question above!

Symptoms : 1) My neighbors knock on my door every night and tell me my (side) lights/ parking lights are on, reoccurring a couple of times daily 2) My parking lights appear to be permanently turned on, but only illuminate as the light fades 3. Additionally (but not at the time the issues started) my low beam lights are now on permanently on when they are set in the off position whilst i'm driving.

Solution: Garage 1 could not resolve, confirmed no error codes on the ECU. My issues are linked to the change in the amount of daylight, and the sensor that i didn't know existed until last month (after 3 years of ownership) . It's also possibly a relay that hasn't been changed for years, and has got stuck when it has finally been woken up!

If its anything like my 2019 x250 then its behind the rear view mirror. It looks through the windscreen to check for ambient light
Hi @NeilDD , I've checked up there and not found anything. The "professional" model when bought it had a bulkhead and no rear view mirror, I've had the cab liner down since, and not seen anything up there either !

Hi, I'm no closer to a solution yet, but for the benefit of anyone who finds this thread having seached for the same problem :

I'm currently leaving the Headlight stalk in the "on" position when it's parked up ! The parking lights don't come on at dusk when it's left in this position, saving me having to check on it hourly in the evenings to turn the parking lights off, saving the battery from discharging, saving the jump starts, and saving my neighbours time in popping round to tell me about it! I wish i'd thought of it weeks ago! It seems very obvious now i have! (It's also giving me extra time to figure out and resolve the problem permanently! )
