Hi We have a 2018 ducato with tachograph and speed limiter that we are turning into a campervan.
We want to remove these, i disconnected the Tachograph and the speedo stopped working so i reconnected it.
Has anyone in the UK experience of removing a Tachograph and speed limiter?

I had that gear on an Iveco Daily as I understand it the speed limiter has to have the ECU reprogrammed, possibly by the Dealer.
The tacho I could ignore for private use but the speed on my pick up was 56 MPH and the elwb van was 65mph which was a pain. It would race up to that , then it was like hitting a wall. At the time many years ago I knew some who drove the same type van down from Scotland showing 100mph on the clock!
Don't know about registered campers with side windows etc. but vans that size have legal speed limits depending on Dual carriageway or Motorway etc. So may be worth checking the legal aspect.
Another point is due to the age of yours any diagnostic equipment will have to comply with:-

** Important - 2018+ model year coverage: **

Please note - some vehicles from the 2018 model year onwards (sold since mid-2017), will have a "Security GateWay" Module (SGW). The SGW module limits diagnostic communication to read-only access, unless the tool can obtain a session-specific access code from Fiat group's servers (which requires an expensive subscription).

This limitation blocks tools from executing commands on the vehicle (e.g. actuations, procedures and even clearing of DTCs).
However, the current generation of SGW can be bypassed, by unplugging the SGW from the car, and connecting an SGW Bypass Adaptor (available separately) in its place.
Vehicles known to be affected so far include MY2018 500X/Renegade, 500L MCA, Doblo, Giulia/Stelvio.

Hi thanks for the reply. I have mulitiecuscan and have unsuccessful tried to alter the speed.
How can I tell if i have a security gateway affected vehicle, I can remove fault codes etc?

You don’t have a security gateway otherwise you wouldn’t have been able to access the fault codes etc.

I think you need a cable with a resistor to be able to bypass it the details are in the Gendan site.

See the link above in @bugsymike post.

tWIN egr models did not have the SGW, manufactured sept 2016 to sept 2019, even later supply date for Motorhomes. 2.3 Adblu 2019 on may have the bypassable SGW. the 2.2 will have SGW in the BCM. I wish Gendan would update their website as opposed to the general SGW were introduced from 20xx. (initialy only on Fiat 500's.)
@proppb
you do not have a SGW.
Multiecuscan(to best of my knowledge) cannot reverse any speed restrictors.
