General Drivers Seat Problems

Car in question - Punto ELX 1.2 8v

The driver seat is raised to however high it can go. When driving, especially at slow speed, the driver seat makes many cracking and squeaking noises. At the end of the journey, the seat seems to have lowered itself fully down.

Is the noise coming from the seat dropping and how do I stop this?

If it is then its a new seat base (££££)

Only solution is to jam it in high position or use a cushion

how do i jam it into the high position? for the two people that use the car high is preferred.

maybe try putting something under the seat? a bit of wood or whatever u have lying around. i know its not ideal but you could get another seat from a scrappy when you get the chance. hope this helps

how much am i looking at for a 2nd hand seatbase from a scrappy/breakers yard?

Just get a seat, £30 max.

Sorry to hi-jack, but where would you buy just a single drivers seat? Got problems with mine also, felt it would just be a repeat of this if i was to post my own

£30 is for the lot, seat and base.

well it wont be new if from scrapyard but even the Fiat seat covers are quite cheap if you wanted/needed to change it.
