Above is the component number, where can I get the latest driver, Google returns very little, it's not FIRMWARE but the latest drivers!

That's exactly where I got but it won't let me update to this version, I keep getting an error message, arghhhhh!!!!! The version I currently have is 05/01/2001 which is crap!

What error message are you getting, and when?

Plus are we talking about firmware or windows drivers?

that is version 3.4, my drive can only be updated to version 3 and I currently have version 2.5 ?????????????????????????

is there actually anything wrong with its performance. There is no point updating just for the sake of updating.

No, I just purchased it today and I've installed it and thought I'd get the latest drivers in!

Anyway, I'm new to this DVD copying lark, what's the best software to use, I've tried my Nero and it tells me that all my discs are copyright protected.

I didn't get any software or drivers with the drive as it was a PC World Component Shop purchase, 16 speed, dual layer, dvd rw for £38, I thought that was a good price!

if you're copying DVD's, i use www.dvdshrink.org , it compresses a dual layer disc to 4.7gb too without loss of quality or sound

Considering myself a dab hand at DVD copying, I'll just pointout that putting a DVD 9 onto a DVD 5 will have an effect on the picture as the files are compressed to fit, by this, DVD shrink goes through every frame of the film and removes the black or dark scence in order to fit the file onto a smaller disc.

DVD shrink has a relativley small file to download and it is uncomplicated like other programs, the newest version also piggy backs your Nero to complete a dvd copy without you actually opening Nero.

without getting too technical, what is the easiest software to use, I've tried that DVDStink thing and it comes up with the same messages, 'encountered copyright protection' blah di blah!

Nero is playing up too, the destination drive only has one selection, Image Recordder, what's all that about?
