General Drive Belt on my Multipla

Hi all
The drive belt on my '51 Multipla JTD is shredding so I need to change it.
Anyone know how to slacken the thing to get the old one off, get the new one on. They are self adjusting, aren't they?

I had same problem, the belt on my JTD was shredding cause the bottom roller/pulley was bend. This roller has a long bolt the mounts onto the lower engine block. Though I did not change the belt myself so unfortunately I cannot comment but it is worth checking the pulley/roller if it not bent.

Got a local garage to do mine but looks fairly easy, changed main crank pulley & both the tensioner and rider as two were worn thought it best to do the lot so it wont be another Fix It Again Tommorow (FIAT)
Parts from Fiat £160 & local garage charged just £47inc
Sterling Motors in Kettering i can recomend them as a good outfit and i have used them for many years now for all jobs that i can't do!
