I have a 2004 Punto Active, I am very pleased with it. Unfortunately the previous owner had some small repair work done on the offside front door and someone in their infinite wisdom stuck the plastic rubbing strip on the outside door back on with super glue. After a week or so the strip started hanging off, it seems Fiat use some very thin double sided tape to hold the strip on.

However the body adhesive tape I have used to reattach the strip has been ineffective, as soon as the door heats up in the sun (or in frosts) the strip starts to peel, I have tried three different types of body tape, one from Halfords and others from local motor factors with the same results. I have cleaned the plastic strip and body with alcohol & made sure both strip and body were clean before reattachment. Has anyone found a tape that works well in all weathers?

Try Sika-flex it's an adhesive silicone sealant we use it at work when customers dont 'want to pay out for a new side moulding. Works a treat! (y)

Silicone has worked a treat, solid as a rock, Thanks for the advise.
