Just a quickie! I have 1980 car with door mounted wing mirror. I haven't seen another car with this as most seem to either not have any or later ones are fitted through quarterlight glass. Looking to put one on passenger side, should I look for 1300 spares or was it a limited option on early 1500s? Plus, how do you get winder handle off without breaking it?

My question is do you really need a far wing mirror? The Exxy is a small enough car, the blindspot is none existant with a quick headcheck :D[/quote]

Too true, I have door mounted mirrors on both sides of my '78 1300. Im sure that the passenger side mirrors are purely for decoration as I can see virtually nothing with them!(y)

unforunately not mine....my baby is currently sharing shed space with my dad's TR3A:)

Regarding the question of removing the window winders it requires at least 2 people i have found.
You need to push the door trim inwards with a bit of force whilst pulling the plastic bezel outwards. At the same time you need to manipulate the circlipy bit using needle nosed pliers and a scewdriver untill either....
A/the clip smothly slips off and you can slide the winder off
B/the scewdriver stabs through the door trim
C/the plstic bezel falls to pieces in your hand
D/all of the above
best of british luck!

You forgot to mention the possibility of the retaining clip flying off suddenly and disappearing into another dimension...

Thanks all for info, never thought it was going to be straightforward, shame the winders aren't like my Citreon, just look at them and they fall off! The wing mirror dilema is purely cosmetic, I must be slightly autistic and just want balance with the Car's looks. My Wife's Midget wing mirrors would make a perfect replacement.
