Technical Dog seat belt stuck in buckle

Hi there
I have an issue with a stuck dog seat belt. My partner put the wrong seat belt adapter in the buckle and it won’t come out. The red button will move up and down but the adaptor won’t come out.

Any advice?

Possibly try pushing the buckle in while pushing the release button down?

I’ve tried that for a good few minutes and it won’t budge. Thinking of trying WD40?

Worth a try
Can you get a screwdriver between the plug and socket to try and pry a little?
