...an Uno being broken? after three wild goose chases I'm pretty sick of finding replacement headlamp switches either worse off than mine or with the same fault... it's really annoying! If anyone knows of a MK2 being broken with this part could they let me know? I just trust you guys more than a scrappie right now... surely they must know it's no good to me when the stick is hanging off at a dodgy angle and doesn't even DO full beams...

cheers dudes...

mmm... mine's just comin up to 60,000... basically I saved mine from the scrapper... I asked the lass I knew from college what was wrong with it and she said 'nowt'... and that's where the £50 Uno came from... I love it to bits... but it's just not got the acceleration I need atm... :( (I do a lot of motorway work with it...)

mines suprisingly got plenty and holds it own really well on the motorway!

its only thew 999cc aswell.

heres a tip : take off the original air filter and get an aftermarket one (say a K&N from a cinquecento sporting) and put that on, then remoive the plastic panel from the front of the car (next to the radiator, i dont mean the front grill) and there u go... alot more power for £40... trust me.. u get so much cold air through the front if u remove that panel

i take it you did this on ur uno? did it work ok afterwards, ie. any problems fitting/with engine?

here ya go.. files big

ignore the sponge on those pipes... thats the custom made filters lol... they are only temporary but do the job. I just need to either get a mini filter or get a hose to put it into the K&N (cinq k&N comes with the hose but i lost it)

oh, second pic thast looking towards the front of the car shows where ive removed the panel.. kinda hard to see but if u look at a standard uno ull see it. its basicly a plastic panel (that the original airbox connects to) that stops any air getting to the engine...

so here ya go

That looks far to good to break?Any better pictures of it?Surely someone on here would have it off you?
If it lived closer to me i`d be well tempted.
Cheers
Adrian

well ide get more money from it if i broke it so thats the best option as far as im concerned...

its got 92000 miles on the clock so its worth about £300 tops... and i got it for £350.. engine is sound and a perfect runner but that doesnt really count

bodywork is pretty good... only 1 bit of rust where paint should be and its easily sorted... only bits of rust underneith are on the towing arms... the rear one is almost non existant...

interior is pretty much perfect ixcept for a stain on the roof where the sunroof leaked at somepoint (fixed now) and there is a little cig hole on the drivers seat.

but saying that, its still not worth more than £300

Bushboy if you break it i need
Complete distributor
digital clock
dashboard instruments
the horn and the heating relays
tell how much you want for each

i just got a new complete distributor for it lol... £40 (thats what i paid)

it doesnt have a clock,

dash stuff is urs (£15)

horn desnt work... but i think its just a loose connection as it worked when i got the car and i light have nocked the wire changing the distributor

andi dunno bout the heating relays lol... dunno whre they are

but will see what happoens with it yet

a clock? if he doesn't want it I'll take it ;) and ok, so I don't sound like a total scrounger!!! :p

inm any case I'm off on another wild goose chase tomorrow... there's a part for sale on ebay... and I figure I may as well go grab it... it's not an auction... it's just... for sale... so I may as well have a look... the unit looked sound in the pic so I'll take a look... but if you do wind up breaking your uno I'm sure there's something I can scrounge to use on mine... maybe the wheels lol... cos I got some... well I'm not sure... they ain't alloys, but you can't put a normal wheel cover on them... and they look shockin'! (y)

the ones on mine are alloys. but ide need urs in return so that the car can still be towed to a scrap yard. need to keep the running gear in order.

but if u really need the suspention or anything like that then u could wait till all hte other bits are gone and then ill give u the whole shell to tow away for £20 lol

Im possibly interested in the front and back bumpers, the front grill and the wing mirrors depending on price and if you do break it :D
