Was out in my 1.9 eleganza yesterday, and was getting strong smell of diesel through the vents. Stopped, popped bonnet and diesel was flowing out of top of the fuel filter/water eliminator. Called AA who were there in 15 mins, towed me to fiat aberdeen and 20 minutes later was all fixed and back on the road, all under the warranty. Only thing it cost me was about a fivers worth of fuel.
Apparently the problem is the fuel filter, which from standard only has a rubber or similar seal which of course degrades quite quickly. The tech put new filter/eliminator on with metal cap and all is well again. He said it was 4th in a couple of days.
