Hi

I posted the picture as I have seen a 4X4 that looks good value. These seats being a down side and just wondered if they are likely to clean up.

The car is a 2005 model with full service history. Asking about £2,800 for it. Paintwork looks good. What do you think and what should I check out before buying. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

If the dirty seats are the only problem with the car... sure if they don't clean up, you could always get seat covers...

Hi

Thanks for the replies concerning the seats. Do you think the mileage is (80,000) anything to worry about. What sort of miles can a Panda do without falling to bits?

It's awkward, but you can unclip the seat base covers and put them in the washing machine. I did with mine, came up well. I recommend a 30 degree wash though!

Bit of a delayed response here (since you've bought the car now anyway :)

Two comments: my 4x4's seats have never got quite this bad, but they clean up a dream using a Vax carpet shampoo-er with a the little 'upholstery' nozzle:
Vax Upholstery Wash Tool (6100 Series): Amazon.co.uk: Kitchen & Home - come up like new.

The second comment is that the grey centre sections of the 4x4's seats are 'waterproof' -- dirt and water will sit on them, but not go through to the sponge underneath.
