Hi guys,

My punto 1.2 16v currently has a missfire to save future trips to local mechanics I am going to buy the equipment myself. I'm looking at running software on my laptop and connecting straight to the car.

Can anyone recommend software? Also do i just require one cable that will run from the car to the laptop and where can these be brought.

thanks for the help

That it is certain to be KWP2000 protocol. Cheap solution would be the ELM 32? from scantool.net.
I haven't used the KWP type, so dont know how good it is.
Tony.

Ive used a ELM323 and 327 on my sisters 51reg 1.2 8v worked straight away, no problems.

I did however also use an ELM323 on my old 2000W HGT and it didnt work, I had to set it up and read the codes using hyperterminal (i wont bore you)

Can pick either up on ebay very very cheap, especially the elm323.

Dan
