Just seen an ace seicento for sale at a garage when my mate went buying his car. W (2000) Reg Seicento Mia light blue colour (don't kow the exact name for this) 0.9 - basically same as mine but the bodywork is in better condition and its a Mia not an S. What are the differences between the two versions. I know the Mia is power steering and I noticed that it has a locking fuel cap, any more? had a quick scan of it and the interior looks spotless, and had two previous owners. didnt get to check service history (if any) or who the previous owners where but interior looked fine and had clearly been looked after. oh, it only had 26000 miles on clock for a 4 yr old car - not bad. Now it was priced at £1995 came with the standard MOT and 3month gear and engine warrenty. I wouldn't pay this price intitially and think that £1800 would be reasonable. Any opinions? I suppose i could go strip all the parts off my crashed Seicento just in case if i do go for this car, at least ill have spares for everything. and i prefer the seat colour from my Seicento to the seicento i saw today. can i literally strip it down before the assessors get to it to write it off or do i need to wait incase they decide to fix it- which i doubt. alternatively i could buy it off his insurance company in its written off state, how much do you think id be expected to pay?

Firsly,

Price, trade guide sugests that a Mia is worth £125 lss than an 'S', but a 2000W S has a guide retail value of £2575 at 45K miles, so £1995 doesn't seem expensive to me.

Secondly

You will have to leave your damaged car as standard. You can't remove anything from it that should be standard. You can ask your insurers what they want for the salvage, but you would then be left with all of it, not just the bits you want.

Cheers, conversely then, should the low price of the Mia put me off - i.e is there something wrong with it? i know it will be MOT'd but this is done by the same garage. secondly, ive noticed the Mia was only in production for a year, then stopped, then not prosuced again til 2003. Was there any faults with the first production, or was it just a matter of upgrading the whole seicento range. My Sei S was priced at £2000 but managed negotiate down to £1800 quite easily with an MOT thrown in and obviously anything that needed doing to pass its MOT. Think this was because the woman who worked at garage felt sorry for me as i was a student and it was my first car and i was being fleeced by insurers!

The Mia is a 'special edition'. That usually means its part of a marketing plan, where maybe it attracts something like free insurance, 0% tick or possibly both. Its run for a short time, then as Fiat own the name they will use it again.

The market for small cars at the mo is a bit funny with just about all the manufacturers offering some similar deals to above on new ones. This does have an effect on 2nd hand values, so your Mia could just be the bargain you are looking for.
