I've been looking for a decent digital camera, nothing to expensive though. I currently have an old Fuji digicam. It's one of the early ones that doesn't even have a back panel screen.

I was impressed by the quality of Liams pictures of his Cinq. Would this be a decent camera?

I started a new thread as I didn't want to ask Liam on his Cinq thread. :)

Any other recommendations up to about £300 would be great, but if the camera above is a good one I might get it at £99.99.

have u got sky or freeview steve cause they have loads of bargains on bid-up.tv and price-drop.tv, i think they have websites too www.bid-up.tv www.price-drop.tv

i have already got a full set of golf clubs and 5 piece luggage set

i quite like olympus cameras cause i find them a lot easier to use then any of the others that i have tried

lol, well i didnt need a set of golf clubs an i dont have a family so the suitcases will never get used:eek:

boots do a good range too and i have noticed that vivitar has come back in style too

Do not get that camera. yea its £100 and its something like 4.1 megapixels.. but its crap. i used to sell similar ones at my old work to unsuspecting customers... :p

Get something like... this Canon Powershot G5 its a semi pro camera but fairly simple to use actually. its cheaper cuz its been superceeded by the G6 which was released not long ago.. but its still good.

the camera section is good in anycase, and u can get cheap media cards from there too.

if u dont wanna spend that much... HP R707 is decent.. smallish and good picture quality. u can get it from a few places for about £200.

Re: Nice one!

Hey Ray,

RRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Thanks for slating my camera buddy, unlike some I don't have £319 so have to make do with my £100 one. No offence mate LOL.

BTW, the pics in the Novahunter thread are medium quality then resized to 800x600 in Photoshop and there's still good. Plenty of cameras are good but peeps don't use them properly by not reading the instructions so the pictures appear crap.

Steve, yes the choice is up to you mate but after doing long research the Novatech camera was the best spec for the money so it was the best ATM. It requires a compact flash card to be bought for use with it but with 128mb cards for £14 quid you get lots of storage i.e. when I took my pics, I took 34 in total and had 680 left to go!

Let me know what you go for but obviously if you have the cash then maybe opt for the more expensive camera.

Cheers

Liam

Re: Nice one!

I've had experience of good and bad digi cams and can honestly say you just need to get lucky, i've seen awful olympus cameras (ask my friend Simon...), awful Benq and Mustek (as expected) but then my cheap as chips medion IMO surpasses my dad's kodak....

:D soz m8. lol.
its always better to go off the review of someone thats got one. though i have seen plenty of crap ones... the ones where its on max settings yet is still poo. My old work place is also closing down... heh. 50% off on all electrical equipment!
on the subject of cameras, i ordered myself a new camera... Panasonic FZ20 the other week... it should be good.. i hope.

Re: Nice one!

No worries pal,

My mate is always buying quality gear so he's on at me to buy similar but since he makes more than me I have to compromise sometimes.

Post up some pics when you get it. What did you use for the York meet?

Liam

York meet was my camcorder. JVC DV-GR4000.
btw... if u find a decent price, Jessops will usually match it even if its online. they did with the camcorder and i saved.. £4-500 :D
Its too bulky though.. :(
