Technical Difficult Hill Starts

Bought a Punto 55s recently. Low mileage for year - 50,000. Car goes pretty well but when trying a hill start (ie under load) the engine wants to stall. Have to slip the clutch or rev its nuts off to manage a smooth pull away. Had service today, change of plugs, air cleaner, fuel filter etc. still no better - any ideas?

possible clutch wear problem?? that is normaly the reason for bad hill starts
