As Jai reported on progress with his garage, thought I'd show what mine looked like. A few hours later, the Uno was unearthed - Warrant of Fitness granted, relicensed - and on the road. Garage still not very tidy, most of the clutter merely shunted to the other side
Only problem for WOF was the horn not working. I gave it a few hits with my hand while the tester pressed the stalk switch - a sound was heard, so that was a pass. I have now fitted two FIAMM disc horns (made in India, one high, one low) which are lightweight and give a sound similar to the old 128 saloon.
Photos show FIAT Club Fun Run to Kawhia via Te Awamutu and returning via Ngaruawahia - a lengthy return trip of about 200 miles - vehicles: Ford Capri, Nissan Primera, FIAT Punto, FIAT Coupe 16v Turbo, and mine. Many of our members were busy with the Targa Bambina road rally that weekend.
It was quite hard work keeping up with the yellow Coupe (fiatdownunder on this forum!) and you can imagine the shakes and rattles, bangs and crashes, the wastegate chatter and the brake squeal, the hard work on that super-light and very lively steering to keep it on the road, and then a quick check of the speedo to show only 55 mph/90km/h
My Uno has averaged 415 miles per year over the last four years, so this was a BIG day out for it!
