only had car for two days, the other day jumped into the car and turned the key the alarm went off, never had to do anything with the alarm before to start the car, blip wasnt working alarm wouldnt turn off, the alarm is not factory fitted
the alarm stopped so i tryed to start it nothing engine didnt even turn over, got jump box out connected it up car started straight away
i thought the alarm flatened the battery so took it long run
got home got the multimeter out battery was charged and alternator was working fine. Tryed to start the car again but again it didnt turn over
every time i need to use the jump box to start the car
the code key light goes off so its not that
any ideas?

What reg car is it, and do you have the red key for the car?

unpluged the alarm, thought it was faulty but still no joy
think it might be as simple as a duff battery

Might well be, thats y i asked about the red key, sometimes when u disconnect battery the red key is needed when u put a new battery on, to reset the immoboliser system.

try starting the car normally with the red key, if it works then the problem lies with ur immoboloiser set up, and might need the blue keys re-coding to the car (not a difficult thing to do and doesn't cost anything).

If it doesn't start with red key best thing to do is get ur battery checked, don't buy a new one straight out, as it might not be that.
