Dunno. Yu need a cat to pass MOT though.

A mate just had it done (on a VW Polo)[:0] and says all it does really is improve throttle response and evens it out...dunno how it'd affect a turbo.

Hi,

according to what I have heard an exhaust for a turbo is easier to manipulate compared to a non turbo.
Make is as big .... as possible. So decat will help you more than it would for a non turbo.
But if it is worth the MOT failing ...

just keep the 'cat' in the shed and refit it at MOT time or fit a 'sports cat' if your feeling flush.you would get good power returns taking the cat of as it would free the turbo up a bit.have you got somewhere safe to store the cat.
NB tachnicaly in the UK its illegal to drive a 'cat' car with no cat regardless of the MOT and if you get caught at a roadside emmmisions check you can get fined,anybody seen one of these cos i never have

i would say with the turbo most definatly yay,as for sports cats some of the big zorst companys do them.i'll have a quick look

ones ive seen are for specific cars from tuners,eg milyek do one for the new mini that improves 34% over the standard cat(airflow) so maybe you could adapt one to fit but personally i'd save the money and just replace it with a bypass pipe

ive never noticed a difference removing the cat but that was on pre fitted performance zorst,i take it you have a sporty zorst already rapley

It made a noticable difference on my car ...... but you hava a turbo which should be quieter anyway.

ok kewl yeah i have janspeed back box atm but me thinks i wanna change that in the near future,i can put the cat in th shed but who is gonna fit it??lol my car is way 2 low 2 get under easy cant even get the jack underneath it i have 2 drive up on abit of contret or wood then jack it up lol
