sh

im goin to the place where i got my exhaust from 2moro to ask about that. Im sure theres a way instead of replacing the whole manifold......il let u kno of the price. Do u reckon it will make much of a diff in performance??

EVERYONE- SPRAY YOUR PUNTOS BLACK

what you will most likely need is a cat replacement pipe at about 50-100 quid depending on what make. http://www.larkspeed.com/index.pl?c=SCORPCATPIPES these guys do one for the gt at £57,dont know if it will fit yours

that will be for the mk1, the mk2 i think the cat is part of the manifold,
you don't want to cut it open and take the insides out, you will need to put it back for an MOT!

if thats one of the newer mk2 puntos i cant see the injection system liking a de-cat very much since it would have a pre cat and after cat lambda sensor, it will probbly run with the warning light on.
and like dave said, wont pass an mot and its right on the manifold.

Yeah because the cat is part of the manifold you are looking 600quid just for the manifold, still with a cat(sports)but dosent restrict the gases,With a decat its not gonna be like a turbo, but you will definetly feel the diference,i got told approx 10bhp,dont know how true this is tho

post 2001 cars right the pre cat on the manifold can be removed and replaced with a superprint stainless steel one for around £300 this will release around 5 bhp min as for the actual cat near the centre box this cannot be removed with out the lambada sensor just after the cat kicking in and putting the ECU into limp mode
pre 2001 cars the sensor is before the cat so can be removed but know somone who removed the cat on thi model and got no gain in bhp what so ever and that was RR tested only one thing he failed his MOT

i decated my 98 punto 60 and can reli feel it. pulls much better top end and is better on the motor way, dont hav to giv it as much gas, but is it worth £600 to ya lol

You might wanna check out the date of the thread guys!

As stated with the later mk2's it isnt simple to just slap a de-cat on like the mk1's and after market manifolds are never cheap.

Going by the username he own's a mk1 punto gt these days.
