Anybody seen these two films and are they worth seeing? Dawn of the dead looks pretty crap but shaun looks hilarious and you can't exactly see the "****-take" without seeing the proper one.

Saw the original DOTD the other day late on BBC2 ( i think?) and not too bothered about the remake but obviously it's necessary for SOTD. Don't want to sit through DOTD (remake) if it is too crap and SOTD isn't funny.

I thought the same Ghost, all trailers make it hilarious!

if u look for screenshots from pirate copys of dawn of the dead, looks like a compltely different film, watched the original DOTD too

Went to see DOTD remake the other day and watched an hour of the original tonight.

The original is appalling...cheap, badly acted and **** poor effects.

The remake is bloody great. Don't usually do zombie / cheap horror flicks but this was good. It's not all mindless killing etc and moves along swiftly and does have genuine tension in it.

Shaun of the dead looks excellent...off to see it on thursday

have to disagree Richie, thought the original was very enjoyable be it a poor film on paper or not.

Will have to wait for your opinion on SOTD next week before making a decision, my precious money can't take me to two films for no reason! lol.

dont think you can compare the original & remake,if the original had the budget and present day effects then it would be comparable,anyone seen the original texas chainsaw massacre and remake? if so whats your opinion on the new one

I made the mistake of seeing the remake and not the original but I didn't think it was too bad as "horrors" go. ALthough I have never really been "scared scared" of any films. I have to say that Blair Witch (1) has to be, IMO, the scariest I have seen, maybe think it is rubbish but when I think about it, it is quite a scary film.

TCM - worth watching but I still reckon it could have been better.

Watch Session 9 if you are into pyschological horrors, VERY good, I will lend it you if you would like if you pay postage?

I wonder why the sudden massive influx of modern remakes of classics?

biased review however, it's not as good as it seems to make out (nb: only scanned it). Worth a watch however, one of the main characters is one of the people in CSI but that doesn't automatically make it bad lol!
