I know there are lots of threads about the issue with the vent trim on the dash lifting on the driver's side (I've read about 10 of them from end to end).

One thing none of them seem to say is whether there's a workable fix though?
It seems that most people who've bought a replacement part at the stealers just have it fail again relatively quickly.

There are also mentions of glue/sealant, but no real comeback on whether those solutions work.

My trim (surprise surprise) has always poked up slightly since I got the car last year, and a couple of nights back it popped up enough that it now rattles.
So my question is:

Do any of the fixes, even the bodges, that people suggest actually work?

If so, which, and how do you do them?

Ta :)

I tried some UHU Serious Glue and that didnt work :( dashboard plastic is very non-stick. I have half considered futting a sblack screw through it with a nice black plastic cap on (at each end to even it out and make it look OEM)

On closer inspection it looks like mine's already been glued once, and it was the glue that gave way the other night.
I wondered about screws, but there's not a huge amount of room past the screen to put them in.

Hi

same thing happened to mine, my solution was super glue, its been ok since.
