Styling dash switch LED's

i have been, just ordered some led side lights an a posh neon interior light.... and i have realised wat i have done... i was lookin at the reverse voltage, not the current running through them... which as it happens is 2.9 so i am sure they will b fine!

does the clock take a normal led or is it a bulb?

following on from my blue dials i am wantin to do the dash switches as well.

however i read that u need 2.5v leds.... i cant find any on the net, the only ones i can find are 5v!!!

help.

Yeah sounds about right Mase...

But yure referring to the forward voltage (the voltage across it), which can be very different to the supply voltage

But any standard LED should be fine with a resistor (typically 270 ohm).

Those 5v ones are designed to be connected directly to a 5v supply (as they have the current limiting resistor built in), a standard LED runs at ~2.5v. Problem is, the car is running at 12v...

These will work fine without a resistor

Its up to yu which one yu use- the 12v is easy as its just plug and play, but I got my LEDs from uni today for nowt as they would have been binned anyhoo.. :p
