We have recently bought a Hymer Exsis i504 2018 on a Fiat Ducato 2.3. Having filled up with fuel, the following morning we noticed fuel gauge showing full but no keys in ignition. Engine started straight away took van for a drive, all external lights working OK but no dash lights speedo rev counter, went over a few bumps in the road and everything came back. Following morning same issue. Van booked in for diagnostics, showed problem with the 'light cluster'. Was disconnected used contact grease then reconnected, all OK. Next morning same problem. Again taken for run and all came back on after a bad patch of road. Going back to garage tomorrow morning. Does anyone know if these diagnostics equipment can pinpoint any dodgy connections and if it is that why does it present again after the van has been static for a number of hours.
TIA

A search for ducato Instrument cluster brings up a number of faults including

OBD equipment is unlikely to determine an intermitant connection, read some of the other threads.
Ducatos have a number of problems that are repeated, this is subtly different. I once had an Audi A6 that wouldnt start when the alternator light didnt come on , this was due to to the way power was supplied to the starter relay. A crack in the motherboard on the display unit meant this light didnt come on. This is just an indicator of the wierd stuff that can happen with Instrument clusters.
The other threads will have covered the other ducato pirenial earth connection problems.
