I want a light weight, race like dash for my GT.

Something along the lines of this

The thing is, Punto dashes are not really suited to being cut this way, there is no obvious place to cut them down.

Any ideas?

i looks abit odd, i think it would need to cover the whole lot as it is but longer just so it doesnt look so bare

Well WRC, BTCC and WTCC cars still have a full length dash, so why dont you cut off everything below the vents (glovebox, fuse casing etc) also cutting the center stack up til the switches where the fog lights buttons are.

that way you could cat out and angle some dials into where the vents where (could mould it in then) and then some toggle switches below them?

i wouldnt mind cutting that exact dash up ;)
lol boo's, but yea you can do that or make one as if you made a fibreglass install, but using the oringal shape and then design a front face so you can have whatever you want on the ffront

Yea, if you fiberglass it then you can get rid of the outer vents, and mould the dial bit into the inner vents :chin:

That's not a bad idea, but what could I do with the heater controls?

Once I've made up a dash I could then make it from fibreglass perhaps?

The left one.

Someone suggested I just get a bar welded across and bolt the gauges to it, but I think that looks bad too.
