Went to get a meal tonite at 8.10 going over a road i use regularly when a bus (coming towards me) around a corner about 750yards ahead so i moved over a little when suddenly i hear a bang, then the back lifts up.
Turns around to spot wot the hell did it!this massive hole in the road 14ins dia 2+ins deep with a pile of (now broken up) tarmac just outside the hole-now outside after the side skirt catches it then tyre crushes the tarmac.
This hole is across where a lamp post had been dug up to be rewired,a little time ago.
I have taken some photos of the area i must take more when its light.ive kept the biggest part of wot is left of the tarmac.
Anyway the worst bit is the damage is a 14+lengthx1width ins scratch on the side skirt back end half, outer running to the centre of it before it runs to the tyre.
Question is who would be Responsible and how would i go about it?

council are liable for that. go back take photos of it, with a ruler as well showing how deep / wide it is, get a quote for fixing the damage then write them a letter.

and kick up like fook!

It sucks when this happens, the other day the council had dug up the road and there was a ramp but no "RAMP" signs or roadwork signs so i went over it at 30mph but thank god there was no damage.

Like arc said get a quote to fix the damage then send a letter or go to your council offices and show them the evidence(y)

Get some photo's and then ask the council surveyor to meet you there on Monday. You can show him the dangerous state of the road before the contractors get a chance to fix it. They are probably a private company employed by the council so the council should be keen to resolve it as they can pass the liability onto the contractors.

Also if a cyclist or motorbike drove into the hole, somebody could be hurt so something needs to be done quickly.

Good luck

Some times folks these councils are a right bunch of :tosser: I take it you have all read my thread Concil dispute they are just not interested they would rather waste money on poofs and hostpitality jaunts than spend it on the nessesary thing that really matter nothing but a corrupt bunch of tossers

I think he means that some councils spend lot's of money on positive discrimination for gays, which is not necessary as they are no different to anybody else. By highlighting a group you just encourage discrimination.

Either way, the use of "poof" to label gays may be seen as offensive to some members. We do have some openly gay members on the Fiat Forum don't forget.

Perhaps PNL can enlighten us as to what exactly he meant? And what exactly is this policy that his council "would rather waste money on poofs and hostpitality jaunts"

Well thankyou Poggy you did a perfect job of answering that Question for me (y)

Our councils policy here in Cardiff is one of fat cat gravey train culture it would take many weeks to type an account of the way city councilors and assembly AMs screw the people of Wales year after year I will give you two instances of this [1] the building of the assembly building £3.7 Billion and [2]Ex lord mayor and leader of the labour party on the council Russell Goodway nicknamed by the people of cardiff as Russell Goodpay after he awarded himself a payrise of £57 thousand a year luckely he got the boot as did the labour council in the last council elections but that is just a small example of how these people abuse their power

Wowwww this would seem to be going off the subject atouch and into alittle touchy subject of a point of view/fact that could be seen out of context. If needs be kill the thread to avoid offence to anybody.
P.s Nicely covered poggy.
