Hi,
My wife has a Fiat Punto 60SX 1242cc 1998 with 50,000 miles, it has been overheating this week and today I had to go out in it while my wife used my car. (It had a cylinder head fitted at 30,000 miles by the last owner).
I put my foot down a bit in it and noticed how high the temp gauge was, the next thing I know I get power loss and rattling noises coming from the engine.
I pulled over and switched off, opened the bonnet and it was overheating/bubbling, it was a nightmare to restart and would only start on idle which misfired badly, if you tried to rev it up it misfired worse and rattled like a pig.
I towed it home later and took off the cylinder head, thats as far as I have got as I know nothing about Fiats and need advice.
Any clues as to what damage I have done?
Can I fix it myself?
