Hi, my inner CV Boots seem to be slightly leaking. (n) Do I need to just change the rubber or do you have to buy a new mechanisim that goes inside to, or do I have to buy a new driveshaft?

I want to keep cost to a minimul really but something which will be effective.

The CV Joint are not knocking or anything.

If I do need to order new parts where is the cheapest I can get them from?

Thanks :)

to do the job properly, you need to remove the driveshaft - repack the CV with grease, slide the new boot on and then put the shaft back on.

however, halfords sell a universal CV boot kit for a tenner. Its split down one side, you cut it to size, pack the CV joint with grease using the grease provided and then put the boot over, and glue the boot together and then secure each end.

If it is on a 899cc version the inner driveshaft joints are lubed by the gearbox oil, so they shouldn't be packed with grease.

make sure u pack plenty of grease properly in there.. reading ur sig - if u cant drive, so guessing the car doesnt go out a lot.. i'd be tempted to do the job properly and whip the driveshaft off
