custom exhaust tommorow, powerflow

Car: Bravo HGT mk1

dont know much about exhausts, would like to know what i need to ask for in terms of bore and sound description.

what does bore size affect?

best i can describe is i want deep smooth bass sound in lower revs (like Tipo sedicivalvole), and ripping sporty sound in high revs like hgt standard ish.

decat pipe is being done at same time. they say it gets louder straight away. i dont want nova racer fart noise that will deaffen me on motorways.

im booked in 11am, anyone wanna give me a crash course?

got a custom powerflow on mine and it's the nuts.
don't bother with a de-cat though as it'll make it sound too ott. a good bore system with the cat left in and a rear silencer will make it sound amazing. i went for a quad exit system, but there are so many tail options tat it's up to personal preference.

When I got mine done the guy took my old exhaust off then started it up and said how much quieter than that would you like it?? LOL

Tell them you want it quiet as they get louder and they bed in, and powerflow have a habit of making them too loud, I had to take mine back and get another silencer put in as it gave me migranes!!

If you don't want it to deafen you on motorways then i wouldn't go for the de-cat option as the noise will resonate through the exhaust and into the cabin, thus slowly deafening you in the process.

why negative about de-cat, it will improve responsiveness wont it? can i not get a de-cat pipe with silencer in it, or does that defeat the point of doing it in first place.

what bore size do you guys recommend for my descrition.

have you got any pictures of the underside of yours and how it is all connected as im a little worried they wont be appy doing the exhaust so close to the fuel tank, also how much did it cost?

and it looks sh*t hot too . .

I had todo exactly the same thing as you lee. Ive got a 1.8 and still think mine is to loud with 2 silencers and the back box.. if i were todo it all again id dig a little deeper into me pockets and fork out for a supersprint system.

anyone used 'A14 Performance' in bury st edmunds for powerflow. are they any good. has anybody tried sourcing a supersprint lately?

also, while iv got exhaust off can i check the cat in anyway if i want to leave it on? or check manifolds etc... i know i dont know what im on about.

and this sounds like 20 questions!

its not too late to pullout, if you guys have better suffestions for exhaust. wanna spend up to 300

i have a powerflow on mine i had a decat made up that i can swop with my cat as i want! after a week of using the decat i put the cat back on just because every time i drove the car it was stupidly loud and gave me a headache (ask tommyk!) when i put the cat back in the noise of the exhaust droped by about half. as for drop in preformance with the cat on i honestly didnt notice a difference!

i got 2 silencers with a cat. and its sounds SWEET. when they did it it was quite i was like errr. crap i bought a duff one.. now its a year old it collected some **** and now sounds a treat

i also told Helz to get this on her brava and shes is now Happy too

its all done. got de-cat as when they took it off the cat was rattling. the guy said theres f*ck all left in it. so put a silencer where the cat was, and have a back box with twin upswepts. thats all there is.

its ok at the moment, although i need a few opinions from mates. its not too bad on motorways, but it is only one day old!!!

if i want to put a cat back in i have to take it back and pay £160, but then will only get a tiny silencer where the original flat box one was. another £80.
