Good Morning, I hope to be collecting my new 500 in about 10 weeks time, and would like to have a fiat forum member recomended phone that we know will work in harmony with Blue & Me.

I prefer Nokia's but from past reading it seems Sony Ericson phones in the past are best suited.

Please if anyone has any recommendations, or know have a current list anywhere I would be very grateful.

Hi, From other recomendations you have made I think I am settled on the SE W8910i.. I have also seen you recomend a SE9810i, is this a typing error as I have failed to fine a 9810i..

Thanks,

Hi Bhindi
I think maybe you have an extra digit!
It's W890i or W980i, I've got the first one, it's a great phone and everything works perfectly with the Blue & Me.

oops, dont know why I added the 1 in to the equation ..lol.. getting confused. Thanks Red Fred.

Anyone know if the w910i is fully compatible.

W910i works with all aspects of Blue&Me,just remember you will need to download the message reader and load it onto your B&M system (just use a flash drive).

Thanks for that.. I have been researching the quality of the phone, and am unsure now if thats a good one to go for as the older W890i seems to have better reviews.

Being pretty close to useless with computer knowledge, those words you spoke about downloading the message reader, dont make too much sense to me.. Im not panicking about it at all, as you imply its relativly easy, but where do I need to download it from.. and with what.. (oh god . i do sound thick..).. im sorry. Is it that I have to go to particular website and get it added onto my phone??

Thank you for your patience.

Go here: https://www.fiatforum.com/blue-me/75638-blue-me-tech-info-questions-answers.html, and in the second post you will find the downloadable sms reader and the description. But I am a little bit confused since my Fiat 500 is 3 weeks old now and I got the B&M with this feature. The only problem that with my Nokia B&M does not know this sms reader function.

I would recommend to listen to expert answering here to you hopefully soon.

My Bravo is a APril 07 (or thereabouts) and has all the Blue & Me bits installed on it - anyway we can find out which version of B&M we are running in the cars to see if it the latest?

I've now got my SE W750 and everything works (although I need to accept incoming calls on the phone to then transfer to the car - if I try to accept call from steering wheel nowt happens - but I think the phone needs a software update - which isn't available yet) and I discovered on Saturday that the SMS Reader works...not needed to install anything on the system.

Bhindi, Just a bit of relief for you, you'll have everything you need when you get your 500, no downloading will be needed....phew for you!

If your a bit clever, get your phone ready with you on the day of your collection, make sure your phone book has all your contacts in and ask them nicely to pair it for you:)

It's quite straightforward to use after that, you'll just need a bit of time and practise (y)

Thanks Red Fred,

Yes thats a good idea about getting them to pair it.. I was planning on trying to get the phone before hand, so I suppose i ought to make up my mind pretty dam quick.

I think I've narrowed my options down to the SE910i, and the SE890i,
but being a woman.. you never know I might change my mind..lol

Thanks, for tips, and patience every one.

Right decisions..
I am going to get what you have Red Fred the W890i, its got great reviews, and the other phone couldn't have got worse..lol

So now just got to find the best vodaphone pay as you go deal, because I dont need a contract.

Glad to be of help, yeah it's our prerogative as women to chop and change our minds........often!

make sure it is new firmware, my 890i had a tendancy i mean everyday turned itself off, sometimes it would not be usable for atleast 15mins or more

Hi Marty27,

Thanks for that, but like I say I'm pretty 'green' over these sorts of things. Is it a version of software that it has, and do I need to make sure it has or doesnt have a particular one, can It be upgraded to meet my needs. Sorry for the questions. I have only owned two mobiles previously and very basic models.

I am planning on getting it at PrePayMania.co.uk for £99. in black, I would assume its current market stuff from a site like that.. (if that was what you were referring to.

Thank you.

my firmware is r1fa030, so as long as its not that version it should be ok, but new firmware should be available if you have problems with it.
works great with blue and me tho
