Technical crunching and stiff gears

My reverse gear always crunchs and now it is beginning to crunch when coming down from fifth gear and it's stiff in other gears. Is there something i could do to fix this or should i get a new gear box.

Check that your clutch is adjusted properly.

Your clutch pedal should be the same height as the brake pedal... if not it needs adjusting.

Try selecting 1st gear, then go into reverse from 1st this seems to help on many other FIAT's

Probably clutch rather than gear box. Using the first into reverse trick is just stopping the gears turning using the syncro on first as reverse does't have syncro.

same problem on mine ive just learnt to cry and bear it for the moment i know on mine at least it is almost all to do with the clutch wich was fitted earlier this year whic by the way for anyonewho knows the story the garage has decided that they are not going to do anything with it.

My clutch keeps self adjusting itself too much (the locknut isnt fully done up).

And I have to add a few turns to the clutch cable nut every few hundred miles. That solves it Just remember to go clockwise!!
