Technical Corrosive Brake Pipes

..just got my car back from it's service, and also cambelt change, the mechanic, whos genuine said i'd need my pipes doing as they have near enough had it. He rang Fiat while he had me car, and he was told that Fiat did a recall on the punto as they had this fault, but wondered if the bravo ever had it, if not is it maybe worth e-mailing fiat and asking why this is??
