The aerosol can label does say "Spectral", so it uses that companies technology. I imagine the mixing must have been really simplified by Spectral?Any good bodyshop supplier should have one of those spectra thingys and make up a real match

No I meant one of those colour analysers…take a part in that has the existing paint on it, they scan it and produce an exact colour match (usually three) so that you can directly compare to find the right one by eye, then they mix up what you wantThe aerosol can label does say "Spectral", so it uses that companies technology. Depends on the body shop. Some do but the equipment to do so can be extremely costly, so it tends to be bigger body shops.Do a lot of bodyshops mix their own paint? I imagine that would be a lot more reliable and accurate than using a separate paint shop.
That is kind of neat. I won't be blending any adjacent panels, its just too difficult!Depends on the body shop. Some do but the equipment to do so can be extremely costly, so it tends to be bigger body shops.
The difference between a professional body shop and what you’re doing is the body shop will blend the paint on adjacent panels so while the colour may not be 100% you don’t seen the transition between the colour like you would do if you had two different panels right next to one another
The new wing is on but not tightened up, its not so great lol. The colour is a shade off. Ahh gotta larf. It doesn't look totally stupid though, just amateur bad!

My current problem is how to secure the panel into the body work at the location below. I have no access to the inside of the bodywork here, originally there was a nut riveted to the bodywork but the nut has gone. So I think i need some kind of winged anchor, or is there something else I could use?

Blimey, i didn't know there was such a tool, thanks.
I paid about 12 quid for my rivet nut gun set on ebay. Well handy when I needed it on my Cinquecento.Blimey, i didn't know there was such a tool, thanks.
Clay block it it may just be dirty paint. Bonnet needs adjustment by fingers. I would get some panel glue. MAybe a heavy duty one used rivet clip? The new wing is on but not tightened up, its not so great lol. The colour is a shade off. Ahh gotta larf. The panel does need tightening up, but i'm not hopeful it will hang properly...anyone got tips and hints to make panels go on better?

I can't say i'm that eager to do this again lol. On the plus side the wing will probably look so bad I don't need to worry about fixing the other bodywork problems! lol

Hmmm interesting, i'll see if there is anything behind the panel i could use to glue it.A blob on the area, where the panels meet and clamp until its set. Its immensely strong but reatains some flexibility. Ive not used it, but watched the guys in our workshop outside my orrifice window sticking wings on a Peugeot 405 they were reshelling. We were liable for all own-damage on the fleet lease cars. It was repaired. I must say I woulsnt have wanted it back!
