i have done a 1242 engine change into my cinq sporting and the rad fan was working fine till 2 days ago.....i have changed the coolant switch in the side of the rad twice in 2 days but its still the same....not working but when i bridge the connection the fan cuts in and even coming home from wembley to edgware (6miles) the temp still sat just below 130degrees,not good for the engine!!!! does anybody have any ideas as to what it could possibly be?
there is no cross contamination of oil/water or vice versa...please please help im at the end of my tether and getting ready to rip all my good bits off it and scrap it and buy another cinq:bang:

if the switch works, and the fan works when bridged then it must be no coolant in the radaitor. sounds like you have a massive air lock. bleed the cooling system properly.

hi
i have bled it up so many times and im a mechanic for over 26years and ive never had anything as baffling as this even the other chaps at the garage are baffled.there is water in the header tank and it was running fine till the fan packed up temp sat at just below 90

just started bleeding system again and i have just been out for a drive come back released the bleed screw above washer bottle filler cap and the water coming out of there is stone cold....is this right???? i dont think so

ok everybody i think i have found the problem....all coolant pipes are hot radiator is hotish at the top but at the bottom it feels as though its just come out the freezer so at a guess i would say its a BLOCKED RADIATOR..... anyone agree?????(y)

ok many thanks ill let you know the outcome when i get home tomorrow night from work.thanks for your help and advice its really appreciated.....next thing who is the best person to talk to about turbo charging a 1242 cinq?
