My stilo is displaying engine fault and then displays coolant temperature sensor fault basically the temperature gage goes up and down all the time while driving. The car drives like normal just the yellow engine light is highlighted my stupid glyn hopkin dealer wont be able to see the car until thursday! i was wondering if i should still drive the car? i mean it cant over heat it especially in this cold weather??

What model Stilo?
Try disconnecting, then using contact cleaner on the temp sensor wiring connector - marked 1 on this drawing for a 1.6 Stilo

You have to decide whether it's a sensor/ gauge fault or a real engine fault

Its a Stilo Active 1.2 16v

The warning light went off this morning it works fine i drove back up to leeds after 3 hours the temperature gauge dropped down to C and the warning light came back on again i think it is a gauge fault almost def the car runs fine but the gauge just has a mind of its own... i want a new Stilo :(
