Hi all.
I have a feeling this may be a familiar type of thread but here goes.
I have a Seicento S mpi (2001). The coolant level always reads MIN when cold. Slightly higher when hot.
So I top up to just under MAX. A day or so later it is back down to MIN but never goes below this level.
Engine runs fine with no obvious head gasket signs & no overheating.:chin:
Any Ideas?

My old cinqucento did this - No matter how many times you topped it up to max, it always ended up at min, but never went below. It turned out to be a sign of pre-head gasket failure. No idea why it caused it to do that, you'd think it would use water constantly, but that's what it did.

Thanks for the replies.
The coolant could do with changing so I will do that tomorrow & fit a new cap. Hopefully that will sort it.
Do these cars have coolant drain plugs or is it a ''hose off'' job?

Cheers.

I have only ever topped my coolant up once to the max and shortly after it resumed to between min and max and has stayed like it since so i have no concern.
