I think I need to take of again a think its going to take miles of driving before it burns of and just by running the car it doesn't seem to get hot enough thank you for quick response David

Pre-internet (for me at least) my mate had an S14 and I had an S13 with an S14 conversion. He crashed his in a typical wet roundabout kind of way (backwards into a wall) and gave me the remains as a part exchange for my car. As I'd just finished the sills and scuttle section of my MGB I got the tape measure out and built the most stupid thing I have ever driven. ;)

hi I waited until it was dark got the propane bottle with torch and heated it up from one end then the other and when it got hot enough it carried on burning and has just gone out after one and a harf hours was very Smokey for the first hour then started to clear I saw this method on you tube and seems to have worked but will still give another go tomoz just to make sure thanks for everyone's help and fingers crossed and should soon be on the road thank you

Sorry for going off topic but... :p

Sounds fun, I have always wanted a s13 (but jdm 180sx with sr20det rather than uk one with the not so awesome ca18det). I presume this is what your mate had dropped into his s13 - pretty sure the s14 has the sr20det engine but never really learnt much about them not wanting one.

I'd put the SR20 into my S13. It was a perfectly good S14 that donated that but I wanted pop up lights. Those were the pre-scene days where you could pick them up for £800 with Tax and test. My mates S14 was like an HKS catalog under the bonnet with a 340bhp conversion. He bought most of the show bits back and I kept the go bits for the MG. Shorter wheelbase and 300Kg less weight meant the MGB was terrifying. 11.2 @ 128mph at the Pod and sold to a chap who welded in a cage and went rallying in Belgium. The car did one event and I don't know why I haven't seen or hear of her since. Maybe he crashed or more likely my MGB is sat in a shed or barn somewhere waiting for the new owner to grow a pair of balls.

It's not like a Forum thread to go off topic at all. ;)

Did you have the engine running when you were burning the oil out of the exhaust? If not instead of an exhaust full of sludge you now have an exhaust full of soot. :)

thanks all for the help and just so you no the best way to clean an exhaust is by using vorsol industrial cleaner i.e. degreaser with boiling hot water couple of hours and the job was done and inside exhaust was cleaner than the out lol all i can say is thanks to all
