Hi I'm looking for a comprehensive workshop manual for the Mk 1Fiat Punto 1.2 60 s that goes into a little more detail than the Haynes, that covers an engine rebuild from start to finish.. Any help would be much appreciated.

Mk 1's are getting scarce now and any worth saving should be kept, whatever spec the model. Have you seen how much a basic spec Mk1 Escort fetches these days. We all love an Austin 7 too and they were once cheap and plentiful.

Sorry I can't be any help with a comprehensive manual.

what is it you want to know exactly... most of the torque setting are in the haynes, thats all you really need. Just take care when taking stuff apart so you know what nuts and bolts go where. Yes there is a fair few bits to an engine but when it comes down to it all you are doing is taking something apart and putting it back together again....

is it just that you want to know what order to attack it in?

I've watched a few You Tube videos on engine rebuilds and you can't know enough. The Haynes manual don't go into enough detail and can be very vague. The Porter manual is slightly better. I figured a Fiat workshop manual should cover everything. I understand there's a DVD version of the manual, but I have had no luck in tracking one down.

well like i say, engines are not as complicated as people think - if you seen a few people tear down a 4 pot engine on youtube, even if its not the same engine, its pretty much exactly same task and all you really need to know is how to recognise bad wear on the components, and have the correct tools to measure and torque stuff back down... Have some faith in your own abilities ;)
I own a few proper fiat workshop manuals, they are often referred to as the 'technical manuals' which may help you search one out but really its not going to walk you through a engine rebuild - would be handy for sure and i would trust torque settings from one more than say a haynes generally. But remember they are made for fiat technicians mainly and its not really the sort of thing they would ever be expected to do - a dealership would in general just replace the entire short block with a new one over dismantling and repairing one...

All that said, look in the downloads section of the forum, i know there isn't a mk1 punto technical manual but there might be one in a different section. There is certianly a seicento one and the 1108 spi engine in a sei is basically the same engine except slightly shorter crank throw and deck height. Everything is the same apart from that, head bolt torque settings are slightly different but everything else should be same, or at the very least will do fine.
