Common problem?

When im driving for bout five minutes
i find the the car becomes very sluggish.
almost till it cuts out.
I put the foot on the accelerator and it take bout 3 seconds of hesitation before it revs past 2000rpm.
If i try and move off it crawls along till it reaches 3000 rev and then contuines in every gear.

But the problem goes as soon as it arrives

has anyone else had this problem with the 1.4 12v?

I have the same problem but it has only really started in the last couple of weeks, it used to be very nippy, and would rev and pull willingly right through the revs, but now when i accelerateit is slow upto 3500, seems to stay at 3500 for half a second maybe then it revs right up to the redline hard and fast juest like it used to, and it seems to do this in all gears. I havent changed anything recently so i would be most interested in any advice to this problem. Mine to is a 1.4sx 96,

I'm no expert but.....

i'd be looking at the injectors - see if one is sticking.

Fuel regulator or fuel pump problems OR throttle possition sensor.

i had the injector replaced last mounth.
yeah its slow all they way up to 3000 or so
then redlines as normal
then the problem is gone

yeah same 96 1.4

Does it make a difference if you thump the throttle down (ie car at idle and floor it) or if you slowly open the throttle?

If the light goes out when you use super UL then it could not have been injector.
